On Saturday 12th December 2016, all members of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society, Orthodox Christian Ladies Fellowship, the Youth Fellowships (Ομάδες), along with their families and friends came together to a final event which was organised as part of the 60th Anniversary program. On Sunday, 22 November, 2015, 21 Greek Orthodox Parishes from Sydney and its surrounds gathered at the Sydney Town Hall to celebrate the 60 Year Anniversary of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society. Approximately 450 students presented a showcase of virtues such as Repentance, Forgiveness, Charity, Faith and Love through a series of sketches based on stories from the Bible and Greek Orthodox Tradition. The Concert was witnessed by an audience of 1500 people, among which were His Grace, Bishop Seraphim of Apollonia and many clergy from the various Sydney parishes.
The Greek Orthodox Christian Society was established in February 1955, by two University students, soon to be joined by a remarkable young man - now known to all, as Father Stephanos. The Society was formed for the purpose to: Cultivate an earnest Orthodox Christian life among its members - the so-called Inner Spiritual Transformation. Further the work of the Orthodox Church in Australia Train Christian workers for the spreading of the Christian Gospel, and Promote knowledge of the Greek Orthodox Faith in the wider Australian Community.
