During the month of January, the Boys and Girls Omathes (Youth Fellowships) and the Men of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society held their separate annual Camps at Mangrove Mountain, about 90 minutes north of Sydney. The Boys’ and Girls’ Camps were held on the same week from the 14-18th January, whilst the Men’s Camp was held on the weekend of 30th January – 1st February. On the weekend of October 10-12, the Greek Orthodox Ladies Fellowships of Sydney held their Annual Retreat at the Rathane Convention Centre in the Royal National Park, about one hour south of Sydney. The highlight of the Retreat was the Divine Liturgy officiated by Fr Eusebios, Abbot of Pantanassa Monastery. On the 23-25th September, this year’s annual Sunday School Camp took place in Somersby, near Gosford, in which a total of 59 children, primarily aged between 10 and 12 years, along with 14 teachers, spent three wonderful days together. The camp motto was ‘Parables’, with the ‘The Great Banquet’ being the overall theme. Fittingly, the Divine Liturgy on Wednesday morning, with Abbot Eusebios and the Fathers from Pantanassa Monastery, was the spiritual highlight of the Camp.
