Wearing A Cross In the Orthodox Church infants (and adults converting to the faith) receive a Cross at their Baptism to hang around their necks. This is not an adornment for cosmetic purposes but rather a WITNESS and SYMBOL of the Faith that they have been received into. Sunday School Camp 2016

On the 29th of September, 60 children from various parishes around Sydney gathered at All Saint’s Church Belmore to embark on their annual Sunday School Camp. The theme of this year’s camp was “Miracles of Christ” and each group focused on one particular miracle. It was an action packed retreat full of activities, games and spiritual learning. The highlights of the camp were the Divine Liturgy on Thursday officiated by Abbot Eusebios of Pantanassa Monastery and the visit of his Eminence Archbishop Stylianos with his Grace Bishop Iakovos. The holy Icon rests at Saint George Monastery in Yellow Rock, Springwood. According to accounts, the Most Holy Theotokos performed a miracle at this site and the Icon was commissioned to be painted.
