The Greek Orthodox Christian Society organised again its annual Spiritual Retreat at the Outdoor Education NSW – Gosford on Friday – Sunday, 5th – 7th February 2016.

The theme of the Retreat was “be at peace with one another and with all”
(Matins Holy Monday).

The Retreat was enriched with the presence of visitors from Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane. This year’s program consisted of various talks and discussions, as well as other spiritual and recreational activities. The highlight of the Retreat was the blessing of participating at the Vespers Service on Saturday, followed by the Divine Liturgy on Sunday at the nearby Monastery of “Pantanassa”.

The annual summer camps for all the Sydney Omathes (Fellowships) for high school boys, was held at Landmark Retreat Centre, Mangrove Mountain from Tuesday – Sunday, 12th – 17th January 2016. The girl’s Omathes camp was held at the Outdoor Education NSW – Gosford, from Tuesday – Saturday, 13th – 16th January 2016. There were 80  participants at the boys camp and 55 at the girl’s camp.

These camps offer all these young people many spiritual opportunities for renewal in a Christian atmosphere. The participants enjoy a program with talks (from various speakers), as well as craft, games and other recreational activities. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the girls camp by the Abbot of the Monastery of Pantanassa, whereas the boys had the opportunity to be present on Sunday for the Liturgy at the Monastery.
