The highlight of the year for many Sunday School children from parishes all over Sydney is the annual camp. The camp was once again held at Vision Valley Conference Centre, Arcadia with over 80 children attending. The theme of this year’s camp was “Heroes for Christ” with each group focusing on a piece of armour outlined in St Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians.
The children enjoyed the many outdoor and indoor activities as well as learning about their own group’s spiritual meaning. Special guests and speakers also attended throughout the camp and taught engaging lessons. The highlight of the camp was the Divine Liturgy on Friday morning presided by Abbot Eusebios.
The camp was a blessed experience where the children engaged in learning more about God and His great love for us. They developed and strengthened both new and old friendships with others from all over Sydney. The entirety of the camp, whether it was playing sport or eating meals together, was done in a spirit of love and joy.
The Sunday School Camp is annual retreat organised by the Greek Orthodox Christian Society for young boys and girls aged 10-12. The camp runs for 3 days during the September school holidays.
