Laskarina Bouboulina, Mando Mavrogenous, Domna Visvizi These three amazing women of the 1821 Revolution devoted their entire personal fortune to build and man ships for the struggle for Greek Independence. They also showed extraordinary courage and ability as they themselves captained their ships and fought in the Revolution alongside their men. From the Fall of Constantinople to the Revolution: First Concert for 200th Anniversary of 1821

The first concert of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society for the 200-Year Anniversary of the Greek War of Independence took place at the Orthodox Mission Centre at Kingsgrove on the 28th of February at 7 pm. Present was His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyaneon, who represented His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia together with the Abbot and brotherhood of Pantanassa Monastery, as well as other clergy of our Archdiocese. 60 Years Sunday School Concert

On Sunday, 22 November, 2015, 21 Greek Orthodox Parishes from Sydney and its surrounds gathered at the Sydney Town Hall to celebrate the 60 Year Anniversary of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society. Approximately 450 students presented a showcase of virtues such as Repentance, Forgiveness, Charity, Faith and Love through a series of sketches based on stories from the Bible and Greek Orthodox Tradition. The Concert was witnessed by an audience of 1500 people, among which were His Grace, Bishop Seraphim of Apollonia and many clergy from the various Sydney parishes.

60 Years Concert: From the Fall of Constantinople to the Revolution

On Sunday 24th May, as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society, the young men and women of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society, Orthodox Ladies Groups and Youth Fellowships (Ομάδες), staged a theatrical production at Marrickville Town Hall titled “From the Fall (of Constantinople) till the Revolution”. 2014 Sunday School Concerts

During the months of October to December, Sunday Schools at various Orthodox parishes of Sydney held their annual concerts to celebrate the end of another fruitful year of learning. In particular, the parish of All Saints Belmore, held its concert with major play productions involving the Boys and Girls Ομάδες (Youth Fellowships), to celebrate 50 years since the founding of the parish.
