Christmas Carols at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese

On Sunday evening, 20th December 2015, at the annual Greek Orthodox Archdiocese’s Christmas Carols, the young boys and girls from the youth fellowships (Ομάδες), as well as the men and ladies from the Greek Orthodox Christian Society and Orthodox Ladies Fellowship, performed a number of Christmas carols and hymns. Several other groups such as the Australian Byzantine Choir, the Antiochian Orthodox Church Choir also performed on the night. At the end of the Program, His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos addressed the faithful participants, which also included, His Grace Bishop Seraphim of Apollonias and a number of our clergy.

Hospital visits

On Sunday the 20th of December the Greek Orthodox Christian Society visited a number of hospitals around Sydney, including St George Public, Royal Prince Alfred, Royal Prince of Wales, Westmead, Bankstown, Concord and Canterbury Hospitals, bringing joy through the message of Christ’s Nativity to many patients.

60 Years of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society

On Saturday 12th December 2016, all members of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society, Orthodox Christian Ladies Fellowship, the Youth Fellowships (Ομάδες), along with their families and friends came together to a final event which was organised as part of the 60th Anniversary program. This family event focused on the Greek Orthodox Christian Society’s 60 years of Mission Work in the life of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia. Official Opening of Orthodox Mission Bookstore

The Greek Orthodox Christian Society’s new “Orthodox Mission Bookstore” was officially opened on Saturday 28 November 2015 at 217 Bexley Rd Kinsgrove by His Grace Bishop Seraphim of Apollonias. The Blessing of the Waters (‘Agiasmos’) Service officiated by His Grace was held to commemorate this special event. 60 Years Sunday School Concert

On Sunday, 22 November, 2015, 21 Greek Orthodox Parishes from Sydney and its surrounds gathered at the Sydney Town Hall to celebrate the 60 Year Anniversary of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society. Approximately 450 students presented a showcase of virtues such as Repentance, Forgiveness, Charity, Faith and Love through a series of sketches based on stories from the Bible and Greek Orthodox Tradition. The Concert was witnessed by an audience of 1500 people, among which were His Grace, Bishop Seraphim of Apollonia and many clergy from the various Sydney parishes.
